The Ragusa Top is named after the beautiful hilltop town of Ragusa in Sicily – a place full of charm, history and timeless Mediterranean beauty. That relaxed atmosphere inspired the design of this top.

The large crocheted square on the back is the signature feature of the design, giving it a beautiful bohemian look. The front is clean and simple, making it easy to wear over a camisole, a bikini or paired with jeans, linen trousers or a flowing summer skirt.

Knitted on large needles in an airy yarn, the Ragusa Top is a quick and enjoyable project. It is worked from the back, over the shoulders in one piece, with no shoulder seams. Only the side seams are sewn, allowing you to choose how much of the sides you want to leave open for your preferred fit.

The crocheted square is what gives the design its distinctive character, but if you prefer a simpler look, you can easily knit the entire back without the crochet panel.

I chose to wear my sample with the wrong side facing out for a more rustic, relaxed look, but you can simply choose the side you prefer.

The pattern includes several colour ideas and looks equally beautiful worked in solid shades or self-striping yarns.
