Tranquility Scarf – Knitting Pattern ENG

Tranquility Scarf is a soft and luxurious scarf knitted in pure cashmere held together with kidsilk. 

The special colour combination creates a lively play of stripes, with the shades gently blending into one another. Mohair Luxe runs throughout the scarf and acts as a unifying background colour. It creates an even tone across the entire colour mix and gives the different cashmere shades beautiful depth.

The scarf is knitted with three strands held together: two strands of Classic Cashmere and one strand of Langyarns Mohair Luxe.

The black-and-white marl of Cardiff Cashmere in the shade New York gives the scarf its distinctive character. Combined with four skeins in three different shades, you can create your own personal colour combination. Choose, for example, shades of blue, pink, green, purple, rust, beige or brown.

A scarf to enjoy both while knitting and later, when it keeps you warm and cosy around your neck.

Tranquility Scarf – Knitting Pattern

Size: The scarf measures approximately 23 × 180 cm, excluding the fringe. Measurements are taken from the finished scarf without stretching it. The scarf will stretch with washing and wear.

Yarn

Classic Cashmere

  • 100% cashmere. 25 g = approx. 112–115 metres.

You can use either Cardiff Cashmere or Langyarns Cashmere. Both work equally well for this scarf. Cardiff Cashmere in the shade New York is used to create the black-and-white marl effect.

Langyarns Mohair Luxe

  • 77% superkid mohair, 23% silk. 25 g = 175 metres.

Yarn requirements

Classic Cashmere – 9 skeins in total

  • 5 skeins of Cardiff Cashmere in the shade New York (black-and-white marl). 4 skeins are used for the scarf and 1 skein for the fringe.
  • 4 skeins in three different shades of the same colour family:
    • Colour 3: 2 skeins – the darkest shade.
    • Colour 4: 1 skein – the middle shade.
    • Colour 5: 1 skein – the lightest shade.

For the scarf in the photographs, I have used two skeins of burgundy, one skein of red and one skein of burnt orange.

Langyarns Mohair Luxe – 2 skeins

For the scarf in the photographs, I have used red Mohair Luxe, shade 0060.

Mohair Luxe acts as the background colour and runs throughout the entire scarf. If you choose, for example, a blue colour palette, I recommend selecting a Mohair Luxe shade that harmonises with the middle blue cashmere shade.
