Knitting pattern for a large, fluffy triangular shawl worked with two strands of mohair and silk – knitted in an easy faux brioche stitch that creates beautiful texture while remaining wonderfully light.

The Mohair Luxe Triangle Shawl is a soft, airy wrap that quickly becomes a favourite during the cooler months of the year.

The original design is knitted with two strands of Lang Yarns Mohair Luxe, a luxurious blend of kid mohair and silk that gives the shawl its signature fluffy halo and beautiful sheen. Despite its generous size, it feels almost weightless around your shoulders.

The shawl is worked from the top down using a simple faux brioche stitch. This technique is much easier and quicker than traditional brioche knitting while creating the same lovely depth and texture—without the fabric becoming as thick.

I chose to knit two rows in each colour throughout the shawl. Combined with the textured stitch pattern, this creates a beautifully lively effect that almost resembles tiny houndstooth checks running through the stripes. The result is both elegant and contemporary.

The colour combination is entirely up to you.

Choose two closely related shades for a soft tonal look, combine contrasting colours for a bold graphic effect, or knit the entire shawl in one colour for a timeless, classic style.

For a touch of subtle sparkle, you can add a strand of Lang Yarns Paillettes every other row.

As an alternative, the shawl can also be knitted in Lang Yarns Zen, which creates a softer, less fluffy fabric with a beautiful fleece-like texture.
