Mia’s Brushmere Play Cardigan is knitted in the luxurious Cardiff Brushmere, a beautifully brushed 100% cashmere yarn that feels almost unbelievably soft. Wearing it is a bit like wrapping yourself in a fluffy cloud – or perhaps a tiny kitten resting on your shoulders.

The cardigan combines calm, natural shades of Brushmere with narrow stripes worked in Lang Yarns Mohair Luxe. This is where you can truly play with colour and make the cardigan your own. My sample features coral and warm dusty rose, but you can choose any two shades that reflect your personal style. That’s exactly where the name Play comes from.

The pattern also works beautifully as a solid-coloured cardigan if you prefer a more classic look.

The cardigan is knitted seamlessly from the bottom up with raglan shaping, making it an enjoyable project with very little finishing.

Brushmere is an exceptionally soft and airy yarn. Because it is brushed, it will naturally shed a few loose fibres at first. This is completely normal. Simply remove them gently with your fingertips – never use a fabric shaver.

If you know that you’re particularly sensitive to loose fibres, you may prefer to knit the cardigan in another fluffy yarn with the same gauge, such as Mia’s SURI.
