Do you have beautiful sock yarn left over from previous projects? Then Your Choice Socks are the perfect knitting pattern.

These socks are worked with two strands of fine sock yarn held together, creating a soft, durable fabric with the thickness of a DK-weight yarn. The best part is that you decide how they will look by combining colours exactly the way you like.

Choose your favourite combination:

  • two solid colours,
  • two self-striping or multicoloured yarns,
  • one solid colour together with one multicoloured yarn,
  • or create wonderfully cosy luxury socks by holding one strand of classic sock yarn together with one strand of Lang Yarns Mohair Luxe.

The possibilities are almost endless – that’s why they are called Your Choice Socks.

If you prefer an even simpler option, you can knit them using a single strand of Lang Yarns Alpaca Soxx 6-ply, creating an extra warm and wonderfully soft pair of socks for colder days.

This pattern is also a fantastic way to use yarn from your stash and create a completely unique pair of handmade socks.

Mias Your Choice Socks

Construction: The socks are knitted from the cuff down to the toe, featuring a traditional heel flap and gusset.

Sizes: 22–24 (25–27) 28–30 (31–33) 34–36 (36–37) 38–39 (40–41) 42–43 (44–45)

Yarn:

Option 1

Two strands of fine sock yarn held together (for example Lang Yarns Jawoll, Mille Colori Socks or Footprints).

Option 2

One strand of Lang Yarns Alpaca Soxx 6-ply.

Option 3

One strand of fine sock yarn held together with one strand of Lang Yarns Mohair Luxe for wonderfully soft and luxurious lounge socks.

Yarn Requirements

Two strands of fine sock yarn: 2 × 210 m (2 × 210 m) 2 × 210 m (3 × 210 m) 3 × 210 m (3 × 210 m) 4 × 210 m (4 × 210 m) 4 × 210 m (4 × 210 m)

Example: Two balls of Jawoll in Colour A together with two balls of Jawoll in Colour B are sufficient for one adult pair (approximately EU sizes 38–45).

When knitting with Mohair Luxe, use one ball of Mohair Luxe together with one ball of fine sock yarn in the chosen colour.

Needles: 3.5 mm double-pointed needles or the Magic Loop method.

Gauge: 22 stitches in stocking stitch on 3.5 mm needles = 10 cm (4 inches).

Always check your tension before you begin. If your knitting is tighter than stated, use a larger needle size to achieve the correct size and yarn usage.
