A knitting pattern for a cropped sweater with extra-long sleeves, worked in two strands of Mohair Luxe – light as air, wonderfully soft, and full of personality.

I often describe Pearl Sweater as ”a sweater that’s just a little too short… with sleeves that are just a little too long.” And that’s exactly what makes it so special.

The slightly cropped body paired with the generous sleeves creates a relaxed silhouette that feels both modern and timeless. It’s the kind of sweater that looks just as good with high-waisted jeans as it does over a dress or skirt.

The original design is knitted with two strands of Lang Yarns Mohair Luxe, an exceptional blend of superkid mohair and silk. Knitting with two strands creates an incredibly even halo, a soft natural sheen, and an airy fabric that’s almost weightless. The sweater feels wonderfully warm without ever feeling heavy.

The entire sweater is worked in moss stitch (seed stitch), giving the fabric beautiful texture while allowing the luxurious mohair to shine.

One of the things I love most about this design is how easily you can make it your own.

You can knit the body in the round or leave one side open with buttons or ties. Choose between a turtleneck or a simple neckline, add short rows to the sleeve cuffs if you wish, or adjust the body length to suit your own style.

The very first version I knitted was deep moss green with a narrow edge in bright coral. That tiny pop of colour completely transformed the sweater, and it’s still one of my favourite versions today.
